Think Pink! My Baby Shower

Words can't express how blessed I am to have such loving, caring, beautiful women in my life. My sister in laws, nieces and a couple of best friends threw me the most incredible baby shower I could have ever asked for! They say when you marry someone, you marry the entire family...although I have heard horror stories, but mine is more like a fairy tale. This is just a little insight as to how close I am with my brother and sister in laws. When we were deciding on where to go for our Honeymoon, they jokingly said "sounds like a plan to us, we'll book our flights" and we all thought it was a joke and I thought to myself..."why not"...and said "go for it"....the next day I got emails of everyone's itinerary and we were off to St. Lucia! They joined us on our Honeymoon (allowed us a couple of days to ourselves before they arrived, how sweet LOL) and every year we decided it would be a fabulous idea to renew our vows so on our one year anniversary, there we all go to California..to sum up life...IT IS BEAUTIFUL! Back to the shower ( i'm a rambling queen)... *90* guests, yes 90...arrived to my sister in laws gorgeous home and were welcomed by valet who drove their cars away as they were handed a glass of wine or pink champagne, it looked so YUMMY! I had never seen a gift table outside, but that was a beautiful sight to see as the guests walked to the front door. My beautiful niece Victoria greeted everyone inside her home and showed them inside (it was still a tad too hot to head outdoors). H'orderves were served around by waiters as we waited to be seated outside, I had yet to see any of the decorations because of course, everything was SUPER TOP SECRET. All I kept hearing was that it looked like a wedding, sure enough, that's what it looked like. Tables were draped in baby pink with huge black vases and flower balls on top, tables were set up outside on her cabana and over looking the pool. For those who don't know my SIL, she is an AMAZING cook and asked my husband what my favorite type of food was, he of course said, I know she likes Mexican but lately all she wants to eat is carbs and italian food! So my sister in law got on it and came up with the most amazing recipe and made ALL THE FOOD...lasagna..OMG...I ate leftovers for 3 days LOL! It would have been so easy to get it catered with as many guests as we had, but she wanted her touch and it to be extra special. Everyone said it was a true testament as to how the family took a liking to me, and I'd have to say...the love I have for their brother is what they see shining through! Salad was served on the side and one of the main "WOWZERS" was my niece Victoria's Pink Lemonade Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Chocolate frosting and nutella inside, OMGOODNESS again, hahaha they were TO DIE FOR! everyone had one as dessert and got to walk away with one in these cute little "Thank You" boxes!  We played traditional baby shower games in between and one of my favorites had to be when they blind folded me, my mother in law and my mama and made us change a dirty "nutella" induced baby bottom, HILARIOUS, let's just say I need LOTS'A practice!!! The shower ended about 10pm, but there were so many gifts to open that we stayed til about 1am and didn't FINISH! I had to come back the next morning and pick up and finish opening them, she still to this day is getting gifts in the mail, it was quite overwhelming...she will one day know how blessed she was to have so many women gather to celebrate her arrival!!!!!! I can NOT wait for our SIP & SEE so everyone can share in the arrival of our precious princess! Off to dinner, but I will keep you updated on BabyShower #2 thrown by my Mama, Brother's wife, and Aunties this Saturday! INSANE! XOXO *G*

This Little Pinky...

When my mother brought home this neon blouse from TJ Maxx, you would've thought it was the newest IT bag. It was the prettiest pink I had seen but had failed to wear it cause I kept wanting to pair it with black skinnies, torn blue jean skinnies, but I needed something funkier and more creative. I kept eyeing my cobalt H&M shorts and to no surprise, pregnancy has definitely taken a liking to my back side and they wouldn't even look half decent if I tried lol So my next option were these cobalt skinnies and I love the fact that even though I wake up in the morning, nothing fits, and the only thing holding up my skinny jeans is a BELLY BAND, he reminds me how beautiful I am. Here is my outfit of the day :) ENJOY xoxo *G*

Summer Style Made Easy

I am so glad I head out to Babies R' Us early today before this storm hits! I'm so excited to be 24 weeks tomorrow! Hard to believe that I am officially 6 months preggo! Whata' feeling! I have researched and researched so many baby products to make sure my little one is equipped with the best and safest gadgets, I hope I've done weLL! My stroller and car seat was ordered before I went on vacation so I came home to that and I came home to my brand new SUV push present from my hubby! It was a few months early, but none the less SUPER EXCITED. Not that it hasn't hit me yet, but it really hits hard as I sniff the scent of my new car and look in the rear view mirror, I get all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that my baby girl will be riding in the back soon. YAY! Here's to my Sunday Fun Day shopping' outfit! ENJOY!

Bad Mama Jamma

There's something real sweet about looking "cute'sy" while pregnant but I took a different route today. I thought my black Maxi was a little bland so instead of adding a typical scarf or chunky necklace I thought I'd add a studded vest! For as inexpensive as it was, the detailing and studs have NOT budged! I just pulled the tags off this bad boy vest and i've had it in my closet FOREVER! To go along with the vest I added spiked earrings and booties. I toned down my arm candy with just'a watch and my cross ring that I am clearly obsessed with! And of course I can't forget what in my opinion made my whole PREGGO outfit, was of course the "cute'sy" bow belt! Isn't it adoraaaablay!? This outfit screamed, or shall I say my little Mia screamed LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME in the TUMMY! ENJOY!

Happy Mama's Day!

It's Mother's Day and I am forever grateful and feel so blessed to have such an amazing Mommy. She has raised me with a set of values and morals that I forever hold in my heart and I can only do the best thing for my little girl on the way and that is to pass them on to her. My mother taught me what it truly means to love unconditionally, she taught me about the good Lord, how to trust in God with all my heart, she taught me how to be independent and stand on my own two feet, she taught me hard work, determination and encouraged me to finish college even though there were times when great opportunities came around and I was so tempted to throw in the towel and pursue other things, she reminded me that no one could ever take my education away! She's just about to get her PH.D and I am so freakin' proud of her, she's so smart, so beautiful inside & out, ever so strong and ::sigh:: she's just heaven sent and I get to call her MY MOM. Here are pics from today at my Grandparent's house again, this is officially my fave place to take pics!

Peachy Queen

There's nothing like enjoying the outdoors with my step kiddos after a long day of work. Watching my little Dennis the Menace trying to shoot everything in sight with a sling shot is crazy entertaining and our other twinky is shooting pics of me by their tree house! I can't help but think of that movie "You Again" with Kristen Bell and Jamie Lee Curtis. When Kristen's brother in the movie gets married he's trying to figure a way to take the tree house with him to his new home. I stare at this tree house wondering who's gonna be the genius that would try to make the great escape with this awesome house that their daddy built, TEAR!
