Beyond Creations

Mia and Natalia were kindly asked to be models for Beyond Creations, a local bow company that sells to small and large retailers. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot with one of my fave local photographers Angela Garmendia! I swear we always have so much fun even if we are running around the set chasing Mia, feeding her trail mix in the middle of the shoot and giving her a raisin to smile. Can we just say it looked like we were giving her treats like a puppy LOL But on the other hand, Natalia was quite the pro! She just did her thang. SO proud of her. Take a look...

Let's Jam

I love hitting the streets in my jammies! You've seen celebs rocking their lingerie and sleep wear on the streets and it's just something that I've always loved doing but this time I went a little fancy lol. My silk pants are actually pjs that come with a matching top that I found at Target and my top is from the luxury brand Maison de Papillon.

Dream

I'm seriously so lucky to have so many photographer friends! Whenever I'm in a pickle and can't figure out settings on my camera, my lighting, aperture, bokeh or whatever..they're taking me step by step over the phone. LOL These pictures do NOT reflect the quality of their photography as I took these on my own lol but I tried! I really want to get better at my indoor pictures but baby steps. Lord knows I'm no professional but I thought these were hella' cute!

High Street Style

I have a special place in my heart for this online boutique My High Street Style. I received an email  from a sweet lady in Atlanta a while back who said she moved to America to live the American dream. She has been following me on Instagram and my blog for quite some time and although I do not know her, said I gave her the inspiration to reach beyond her comfort zone and start an online boutique. WOW. When I started my blog my main focus was fashion and beauty but it's feed back like this that makes me realize that it's more than just that. It's about connecting with people and giving them a peek inside your life to where they feel as though they know you and it allows them to really grasp the genuine love I have for inspiring people through my blog wether it be style tips, the latest fashion, mommy posts, baby products and just LIFE in general! ::Siiiigh:: So yes, you will be seeing SEVERAL pieces from this line as she was so sweet to send me the most amazing clothes. I hope you ENJOY as much as I do! This first piece is the Aztec Printed Hi-Lo Cardigan that I just threw on and made my whole outfit just wOah. This is such a light and airy cardigan that has little pockets (is it weird that I'm obsessed with anything pockets) and can also double as a blankie if you throw one side across the other. PERFECT for traveling or can even be dressed up with faux leather skinnies and knee length boots for a night out!

Faux Leather for the Win!

We have been blessed with some pretty great Fall weather and of course one of my fave things to do is layer, layer, layer! I initially took a MILLION outfits to Colorado for Thanksgiving and I couldn't wait to post all these fabulous outfits with the most amazing backgrounds…but once we got there, something came over me and I literally didn't even want to be on the phone, much less take a million pictures. All I wanted to do was soak in the moments with my family. SooOoo I'm glad we are getting cool weather cause I have some great outfits ℅ Cents of Style that I can't wait to share and this fun vest being one of them! They are giving my blog readers and followers 20% off of any order with

Another year gone by....

I've always had a "thing" for making a big deal out of birthdays. When I was younger I would literally celebrate all week, throw lavish birthday parties at clubs with 8 foot long ice sculptures and the works...LOL. SO RIDICULOUS. But it is what it was and I can always look back on pictures and laugh at the chaos that was my 20's!
After becoming a mother, I think the meaning of birthday took on a whole new meaning. That was the day I brought life into this world, that's the day our family grew and would never be the same and that's the day for the first time I had seen a miracle in the flesh. So with that being said, I share the photos of my first born Mia's celebration of life. Two years old never looked so cute ;)

We've Seen Better Days...

I had all sorts of plans for today, October 1. It's officially my FAVORITE month of the year! My birthday the 16th, the hubbs on the 19th and Mia's on the 23rd! I planned on stocking up on all sorts of Halloween decor to add to my collection and then head home and have Mia help decorate but unfortunately, she is SO SO SICK! My poor little angel. She's usually the life of the party, bouncing all around the house ALL day and cracking us all up. So to see her down and out, truly breaks my heart. Here are a few pix taken a week ago when Mia was herself. Another fun outfit cause life is way too short to wear boring clothes! Totally digging these fun leggings from Shop112!

Be The Good Campaign

When I was approached by Jane.com and Cents of Style to be part of their #bethegood campaign, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to let people in on my passion of giving back to our community.
Being that I am a business owner I am often approached to support several organizations through donations and volunteering. Although, I would love to help every single non-profit out there, my main focus is helping the children in our area. A few years back, although I have my own business to run, I accepted a full-time position as Program Coordinator for our Boys and Girls Club. To wake up every day and know that I can make an impact on someone's live, YES PLEASE, SIGN ME UP!
Along with my daily duties I sat on the annual scholarship gala committee that raises money for deserving seniors, I have lent my voice to be the master of ceremonies for the annual scholarship banquets as well as donated money to fund the scholarships. I even took on a basketball team to coach!
I grew up with divorced parents and saw how hard my mother worked to make a great life for myself and my brother. She taught us faith, she showed us with hard work and determination we could accomplish anything and she made sure she was a great model by furthering her education and receiving her doctorate.
I am well aware that there are children out there who are not as fortunate as we were to come from a broken home yet have a mother as strong and educated as ours so I make sure that when I am asked to do motivational speeches to kids, I let them know that they do not have to be a statistic, they don't have to get down on themselves due to their circumstances and that anything is possible.
The smile on these kids faces when I tell them that I too come from a broken home, that I too had a father in jail and that I made it out JUST FINE with an education, great job and a bright future...telling them my story makes it all worth it.
I encourage you to take part in this campaign and spread light in your community. It doesn't have to mean giving big bucks, just a random act of good goes a LONG, LONG way! Trust me.

1.     Choose a good deed. Could be as simple as paying for the coffee after yours.

2.     Share your goods. Pick your favorite social channel (Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Twitter, etc.), but first, make sure to take a selfie (or something appropriate to your story), and share your story, big or small. Be sure to use these hashtags to help this campaign spread: #BeTheGood #JaneCares and #CentsofStyle. You’ll see your story featured at http://Jane.com/bethegood

3.     Tag 1-5 of your friends to do the same within a 24 hr period.

Look stylish while doing it! Jane.com and Cents of Style are selling some super cute #BeTheGood t-shirts on Jane.com. All profits made will be donated to Girls Inc. an organization that inspires girls to be strong, smart and bold.
